Our Process

How We Build Websites That Work.

Transparent. Structured. Fixed-price. Here's exactly how we take your project from brief to live website — with no surprises along the way.

Process Overview

Five steps. One fixed price.

Most agency engagements are painful because of uncertainty — unclear scope, shifting timelines, and invoices that don't match expectations. We've eliminated all of that.

Before we start, you know: the exact scope of what we'll build, the exact price you'll pay, and the exact date we'll deliver. We've run this process on 250+ projects. It works.

Discovery Call

The discovery call is a genuine conversation — not a sales pitch. We want to understand your business, your customers, your goals, and what your website needs to achieve to be considered a success 12 months from now.

Before the call, we review your current website (if you have one) and come prepared with observations. We look at your Google PageSpeed score, your mobile experience, your SEO basics, and your conversion funnel. You'll leave the call knowing exactly what we see and what we'd prioritise.

We'll also give you an honest recommendation on the package best suited to your goals — including recommending the smallest one if that's genuinely what you need. We'd rather build the right project than oversell.

What You Get From This Step

  • Honest assessment of your current website's strengths and weaknesses
  • Clear understanding of what your site needs to achieve your goals
  • Package recommendation with rationale
  • Answers to every question you have about working with us

Design Proposal & Fixed Quote

Within 48 hours of your discovery call, you receive a written proposal. This document contains everything you need to make a confident decision: the full scope of what we'll build, page by page; the deliverables at each stage; the timeline with committed delivery date; and one fixed price.

Alongside the scope document, we include a design direction brief — a moodboard of visual references, proposed typography choices, and colour direction — so you can see the aesthetic direction before any development begins. This is not a vague "here's what we're thinking" — it's a specific, opinionated direction that you can approve or redirect.

The fixed price is the price you pay. We don't bill hourly, and we don't add charges for work that was always within scope. If you want to add something that genuinely wasn't in the original brief, we'll quote it separately first.

What You Receive

  • Written scope document with every page and feature listed
  • Design direction brief (moodboard + typography + colour)
  • Project timeline with committed delivery milestones
  • One fixed price — total cost, inclusive
  • Payment structure (typically 50% upfront, 50% on approval)

Design Phase (Figma)

Once you sign and pay the 50% deposit, design begins immediately. We work in Figma and design full mockups for every key page — homepage, interior page template, mobile view — before a single line of code is written.

The design proposal is presented in a Figma share link with a written rationale for each major decision. Why we chose this typeface. Why this CTA is placed here. Why this trust signal appears above the fold. You're not just reviewing a design — you're reviewing the thinking behind it.

This stage includes one round of design revision. We collect your feedback, make all changes in one pass, and present the final design for approval. Nothing goes to development until you explicitly approve the design. This is the single most important step for project success.

Deliverables

  • Full Figma mockups — homepage, inner pages, mobile (all key breakpoints)
  • Component library — buttons, cards, forms, typography styles
  • Written rationale for key design decisions
  • One revision round incorporated
  • Design approval before build begins

Build, Review & Revisions

Once the design is approved, we build. The build phase timeline depends on project complexity — typically 5–7 days for Launch projects, 10–14 days for Scale projects, and 15–20 days for Platform builds.

At the end of the build phase, you receive a staging link — a fully functional version of your site at a temporary URL. Click through every page, test every form, and review the site on your phone. Send us one consolidated document of everything you'd like changed.

Two full revision rounds are included in every project. We address all feedback in each round — no cherry-picking, no "that's out of scope." After revisions are complete, we present the final version for your sign-off.

What Happens in This Phase

  • Full site built on staging environment
  • All pages, forms, CMS, and integrations connected
  • Internal QA — speed, cross-browser, accessibility, mobile
  • Staging link shared for your review
  • Two full revision rounds incorporated
  • Final version presented for sign-off

Pre-Launch Checklist, Launch & Handover

Before anything goes live, we run our 40-point pre-launch checklist. Speed audit. SEO review. Form testing. Cross-browser testing (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Redirect verification. Analytics confirmation. SSL and security headers. 404 page. Favicon. Every box checked before we touch production.

On launch day, we handle the DNS and hosting migration — you don't need to touch anything technical. We monitor the new site for 24 hours after launch to catch any edge cases.

The handover includes: a recorded video walkthrough of the CMS (how to add blog posts, update team pages, edit content), full documentation of the site structure, and 30 days of free post-launch support for bugs and minor adjustments.

Launch Deliverables

  • 40-point pre-launch checklist completed
  • DNS migration and hosting setup
  • Google Analytics + Search Console verified
  • Sitemap submitted to Google
  • Recorded CMS training walkthrough (video)
  • Full documentation package
  • 30 days free post-launch support
  • Access credentials for all platforms delivered securely
FAQ

Process Questions.

What do I need to provide to get started?
To start design, we need: your brand assets (logo files, brand guide if you have one), any content you want on the site (text and images), and your approved design direction. If you don't have content or images ready, we'll provide guidance — we can work with placeholder content during design and fill in final content before launch.
What if I need to change the scope mid-project?
We handle this cleanly. If you want to add a page or feature that wasn't in the original scope, we pause and quote it in writing before starting. You decide whether to add it at the quoted price or defer it to a future phase. Nothing gets added without explicit agreement — which means your budget is always protected.
How are revisions handled exactly?
A revision round is a consolidated set of feedback — you collect everything you want changed, send it to us in one document or Loom video, and we make all changes in one pass and present the updated version. We've found this is far more efficient than back-and-forth single changes. Two full rounds are included in every project.
What if I'm not happy with the design?
We stand behind our design work with a guarantee: if you're not happy with the design after the first round of revisions, we'll refund your deposit. No questions asked. In practice, this hasn't happened in our 250+ projects — because the design direction brief at the proposal stage sets clear expectations before we start.
Can I be involved during the build, or do I just wait?
You receive weekly progress updates throughout the build phase — typically a short Loom video showing what's been completed. You're welcome to provide input at any stage, but we generally recommend consolidating feedback for the formal review stage so we can address everything in one clean pass rather than making incremental adjustments that slow progress.
What happens after the 30-day support period?
After the free support period, you can manage the site entirely independently using the CMS — no developer needed for content updates. For ongoing design changes, new pages, or technical maintenance, we offer monthly retainer packages. Ask us about pricing; most clients on our retainer pay between $250–$750/month depending on scope.
